Importance of Local Organic Food

I find it strange that while living in Canada, it's more common to find produce from California, Mexico and New Zealand, than it is stuff grown right here, locally! I understand that some fruits and veggies are not available here all year round, but I also understand the importance of eating seasonally AND locally. By consuming locally produced organic food, not only that you're supporting local agriculture, eliminating pollution that is created by transportation, attuning yourself spiritually to your surroundings, but you also may be paying much less! Eliminating the middle man is totally possible by getting involved in a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), a local co-op, or better yet, growing the food yourself! 1. I hear that,
while living in Hawaii back in the 90's, it would drive me nuts when I would go into the supermarket and all they would have were tasteless bananas from Ecuador, when some of the most amazing 'apple bananas' in the world are grown right there...!?
The fact that companies are paying to have these shipped 2000+ miles to Hawaii just boggles the mind...
I guess it shows just how sick and corrupt this whole situation is....

    Nice vid btw,
don't forget to get yer local honey!
    Keep it up brother!
